At the sight of this newborn calf, my heart melted. I have to paint this little girl, I thought. I felt so much joy in painting her beauty, innocence, and youth. It also showed me how much I love to paint animals. I am blessed to be living in a neighborhood surrounded by pastures with cows, horses, donkeys and burros, sheep, rabbits, groundhogs, and deer. Each time I see an animal, it fills my heart. I see so much beauty around me.
Mike Dooley, founder of “Thoughts Become Things,” in one of his beautiful “Notes from the Universe” says, “One of the greatest paradoxes of your physical senses is that your eyes actually show you what you believe, not what you see. And fortunately, it’s easier to change what you believe, than what you see.”
Phew! that’s an eye-opener (no pun intended).
So, what do I believe? I believe in beauty. I believe beauty is in everything. Even if my critical mind sometimes interfere. Beauty is peace. Beauty is simplicity. Beauty is in being ordinary. Beauty is in every brush stroke when my heart is full.
I love my life.
